Dementia Expert and Educator:

As a passionate Dementia Expert and Educator, I am dedicated to spreading awareness and knowledge about dementia. I empower families to navigate this challenging journey confidently and compassionately.

Nurse Practitioner:

As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner, I bring specialized care to individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. My focus is on holistic well-being, ensuring comfort and support throughout their journey.

Yale University:

In pursuit of my doctoral degree, my objective is to improve the quality of life for those faced with the challenges of dementia. My research focus is to develop an algorithm to better manage behavioral and psychological symptoms in persons with dementia.

Held online only! Identify effective communication strategies and navigate potential pitfalls when dealing with dementia-affected individuals. In this session, you will learn the dos and don’ts to enhance meaningful connections. Support group to follow.
Session 3: How to manage Repetitive Questions, Thoughts, and Behaviors
Held online only! Discover practical approaches to manage repetitive behaviors and questions, fostering a more supportive environment for both caregivers and those with dementia. Support group to follow.
Session 4: Why my loved one Wanders and Sundowns? The Resolution.
Held Online Only! Understand the reasons behind wandering and sundowning in dementia and explore resolutions to enhance safety and well-being. Support group to follow.
Session 5: Managing Anxiety and Depression with Self-Care
Held Online and in person! In this session, you will gain an understanding of the signs and symptoms of depression and anxiety in people living with dementia and their caregivers. Essential self-care techniques for caregivers will be discussed. Support group to follow.
Session 6: Understanding Paranoia, Delusions, and Hallucinations
Held Online Only! In this session, you’ll learn about the effects of paranoia, delusions, and hallucinations on people living with dementia, gaining insights into compassionate and effective care. Support group to follow.
Session 7: The frustrations with Bathing/Dressing/Toileting. How to overcome it!
Held Online Only! In this session, you will explore strategies to navigate and overcome the challenges associated with bathing, dressing, and toileting in dementia care. Suggestions to simplify this process will be offered. Support group to follow.
Session 8: The Struggles with Eating and Maintaining a Healthy Diet and Weight
Held Online Only! In this session, you’ll learn about the everyday struggles related to eating habits and maintaining a healthy diet for individuals living with dementia. Support group to follow.
Session 9: The Montessori Approach to Dementia Care
Held Online and in person! In this session, you will learn the Montessori approach for dementia and how to apply this innovative method to enhance the quality of life for individuals with dementia. Support group to follow.
Session 10: Transfer Trauma, What is It?
Held Online Only! In this session, we will discuss the concept of transfer trauma and its impact on individuals with dementia, exploring ways to minimize its effects. Support group to follow.
Session 11: Is Senior Placement the Right Option?
Held Online Only! Aging in place is always best for a person suffering from dementia. However, there are times when we must consider senior placement. In this session, you will learn about the various senior living options to make an informed decision about the best care options. Support group to follow.
Session 12: Dementia and End-of-Life Care
