If you’re on this page, you’ve probably heard of the amazing services we provide and want to learn more. Or you’re someone grappling with dementia, and you’re interested in securing your future. Or perhaps you’re caring for someone with dementia and you’re feeling overwhelmed. I wholeheartedly understand the difficulties and emotional pain experienced with this journey.

Caring for someone with dementia is emotionally taxing. Several years ago, I experienced this strain and quit my job to care for my beloved mother, Wilma, who faced challenges of memory loss. As her Alzheimer’s disease progressed, I battled severe depression as I grieved the loss of the woman I once knew. She morphed into a different person, and I watched her memories, desire for cooking, and her sound advice dissipate into the distance. It was painful as I struggled to accept my new normal.

Molded by the pain of witnessing my mother slip away, I found inspiration and an unspoken challenge to transform pain into purpose. Fueled by my unwavering commitment to make this journey a positive experience,  I founded Hearts for Dementia.

With over a decade of providing personalized care and support to those confronting serious illnesses, I stand as a dual board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. As a clinician who has worked in Family Medicine and Neuropsychiatry, I understand the intricacies between a patient’s history, circumstance, medical and mental health needs.

Dementia is a silent storm that creeps into our lives. As the founder of Hearts for Dementia, I see this initiative as a heartfelt commitment. It is a promise to serve the community by providing comprehensive care, education, caregiver support, and research for those affected by dementia.

In my mother’s honor, we embark on this journey together, creating a community that thrives on understanding, resilience, and unwavering support. Through Hearts for Dementia, we strive to be the beacon of hope for others navigating the challenging terrain of dementia.

I believe in a people-first approach—a philosophy etched into the very foundations of Hearts for Dementia.
